According to the Report of the Auditor-General on the Public Accounts of Ghana, Pre-University Educational Institutions for the financial year ended 31 December 2021, Four Institutions in upper West Region, 2 Tertiary Institutions and Two Senior High Schools have been directed to recoup Unrecovered salary advances of GH¢104,078.50 from 50 Staff of the Institutions outlined below:

McCoy College of Education, 41 Staff Owing 95,691 Cedis, 4 Staff of Nusrat Jahan Ahmadiyya College of Education owing 4,637.50, 4 Staff of Piina SHS Owing 2,750 Cedis, One Staff of TI Ahmadiyya SHS Owing Ghc1,000 All Summing up to Ghc104,078.50.

Per the Auditor’s Recommendations, some directives were given to the institutions to recover the monies:

The non-recovery had denied other staff the opportunity of benefitting from the facility. They recommended to the managements of these institutions to ensure the immediate recovery of the advances totalling GH¢104,078.50 from the defaulting staff.

They further recommended that the managements of these institutions should institute measures for the prompt recovery of salary advances granted to staff.
