A Drug Peddler has been busted in town selling unregistered drugs to vulnerable residents of Duori, A Suburb of the Wa Municipal on the 24th of December 2023.

His arrest was made by some Concerned citizens who suspected his drugs weren’t registered.

On their checks, they discovered his drugs had no Expiry dates on them as was indicated in a sheet of paper covering the sealed container, the Drugs which were prescribed a treatment for stomach pain, sexual weakness and piles were not registered by the food and drugs Authority (FDA).

The Seller pleaded for mercy and pledged never to sell the drugs to anyone if he is set free. He indicated the fake drugs were being brought in from Nigeria through porous borders into the country.

Meanwhile the Upper West Regional Directorate of Ghana Health Service headed by Dr. Damian Punguyire has been urged to partner with other stakeholders in order to reduce drug Abuse.
