Following the open of nominations of NPP Primaries for interested persons to contest in constituencies with sitting MPs on December 20, 2023, no other person has picked nomination forms at the close of December 25, 2023, for the contest in Lambussie Constituency.

The sitting Member of Parliament, Dr. Bright Bakye Yelviel, BALIGI, therefore goes unopposed to contest the 2024 elections on the ticket of the NPP.

The Majority in parliament on the 5th of December 2023, made some changes in its committee leadership announced by the Majority Chief Whip, Hon Frank Annoh Dompreh Appointed Hon. Bright Bakye Yelviel Baligi, MP for Lambussie is the Vice Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee his core mandate is holding public officials accountable for the assurances they have given to Parliament.

It has the authority to summon Ministers and public officials to provide explanations, updates, or evidence regarding the progress made in fulfilling assurances.

In the area of job creation for the youth, a cardinal principle in his Lambussie Rising Agenda, it’s believed that the Legislator has put necessary efforts to deliver in his first term while working tirelessly to hook up more youth into the job market, a development that will win the admiration of his constituents.

The rank and file of the party in the constituency have therefore thrown their weight in full support of Hon. Dr. Bright BALIGI with the view to working together in the spirit of unity towards retaining the seat for the party.

Mr. Baligi Won the Seat in 2020 after defeating Candidates including Edward Dery of NDC and Jon Dough, an Independent Candidate.
