The Wa East District is one of the Districts Established in 2004, It has challenges in putting across concerns as defined geographical area with Regards to Development needs and digital/electronic communication.

The Radio Station that has been mounted in Funsi by Name Pulung FM, meaning white FM in English had it’s test transmission and Assessment caried out by Some Journalists from the Wa Municipality.

The Radio Station will be Opened Fully in 2024 for Effective Communication and Marketing to be on Course within the Wa East District.

According to Ahmed Saanyuo on Thursday 28th December 2023.

“I was there some at Pulung FM in Funsi, in the Wa East District of the Upper West Region.It is the first Radio Station in the District coming to add up in the Region.

Wa East District is third most populated District in Upper West Region According to the 2021 Population and Housing Census with 91,457 People. It has a male Dominated Population meaning the District has more men than women.

Male Population was 46,621 whilst Female population was 44,836 according to the 2021 Population and Housing Census.

Almost All Districts in Upper West Region have Radio Stations with the Exception of Wa West District, Lambussie District and Dafiama-Bussie-Issa District.
