On the 30th of December 2023, the Member of Parliament and the NDC 2024 Parliamentary Candidate for the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa Constituency Hon Dr Sebastian Ngmenenso Sandaare graced the festival celebrations of Guomo Lalee in Bussie. It is a festival aimed at uniting their communities towards development.

The environment was filled with joy and celebrations as many people gathered to witness this momentous festival.

The theme of the festival: Uniting the Guomo Clan for Development.

The paramount chief of the Bussie traditional council, Naa Pius Samwin Bakyor Nyaalee (I) welcomed everyone to the celebration and wished them a successful and fulfilling one.

According to the history narrations by a nominated elder, the Guomo clan comprises the Owlo, Koriyiri, Chebaa and Bussie communities. These communities are one and they migrated from South Africa and was saved by Leopard, hence the reason why it’s their totem.

The hardworking Member of Parliament presence added a touch of distinction to the festival. He used the occasion to tout some of his achievements within the Bussie environment to include the many boreholes drilled and repaired, Sponsorships to Students, Providing essential health to the Community, Educational Fund, Supporting in building Maternity block, support the construction of 3-unit classroom block at Nyori/Kamahegu, construction of valley ball court in Bussie, brought Physician Assistant etc. He also assured the chiefs and his people to work on their health center car he donated to them which recently involved in an accident, and also furnish and hand over the maternity ward which is almost finished by January 2024.

The development-oriented member of Parliament redeemed his pledge of 100 bags of cement for an ongoing Bussie church building, supported an amount of Ghc20,000.00 from MP’S Common Fund for the construction of Bussie-Balania Youth center project. He also assured the Kunkpenaayiri and Neereyiri of getting them boreholes sooner.

The event showcased the importance of shared celebrations in fostering unity and development. The euphoria of the gathering really echoed the spirit of unity that defines our tradition and culture.

In the early hours of yesterday, the Member of Parliament joined the Upper West NDC on the 24 Hour Economy Edwuma Pa Nkoaaa Sensitization Walk on the principal street of Wa. A policy adopted by H.E John Mahama and the NDC for all to embrace which will be implemented in the NDC government in 2025 that will create more jobs and opportunities for the teeming Ghanaians.

The Member of Parliament was accompanied by the NDC constituency chairman, Mr Boniface Tienaah, constituency Secretary, Mr James Wor, cross section of Constituency Executive Committee, Branch Executives and party faithfuls. The team later donated Ghc1,000.00 for the organization purpose.

Other important dignitaries that were at the festival includes; Sir Dr Edward Gyader, Mad Yirpare Genevieve District Director of Health DBI, Mad Cecilia Kakraba District Director of Health Wa-West, Religious leaders etc.

May the Guomo Lalee festival continued to unite, progress and champion development in Guomo clan.
