
Some Stakeholders in Education within the Wa East District and other parts of Upper West Region have called for the Manwe College of Education to be converted into a Technical Institute.
According to Residents based in Wa including Ibrahim Adams from Manwe, he indicated that the Wa East has only Two Senior High Schools, one in Loggu and And Another in Funsi, he added that the Manwe to Bulenga Stretch has no Senior High School depriving over 5,000 abled youth access to Education.
He added that it will be much easier to get a Technical Institute based on the demands and criteria to be met.
“..We have only two senior high schools in Wa East, No Technical School, it will be easier to convert the infrastructure there into a technical school for our own benefit, the human resources demands will be much lower at least a master of Technology, Bachelor of Technology, of Higher National Diploma for Staff, but with College you’ll Need more staff with Mphil or PhD…”.
The school has been supported in several ways by people including Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih with Cash and Hajia Humu Awudu with Transformers.
The Aswag Manwe College is owned by Ahlhus Sunnah Wal-Jamaat.
