Some Agrieved youth Stormed the Upper West Regional Police Headquarters on Thursday 1st February to demand Justice for Thier brother Zumankyere Amos, a 27 year old musician who was shit dead by a police officer at Loho in the Nadowli-Kaleo District on 8th of January 2024.

A group of young men Numbering 10 were at the police station but were initially prevented from entering.

Two out of the ten including one other Fidelis Affected by the gunshots were allowed in to meet the Regional Police Commander, DCOP Darko Offei Lomotey.

They Were duy informed that that the Officer involved has been interdicted whilst necessary processes are in place to release the body for burial.

WE PAID A PEACEFUL VISIT TO THE UPPER WEST REGIONAL POLICE COMMAND EARLIER TODAY IN HONOR OF OUR BROTHER SKELENZY’S (AMOS) DEMISE.

The walk was for two Purposes/Demands.

1. To Demand for Disciplinary actions to be taken against the Police Officer Responsible for the shooting( 8th of January 2024) which Resulted in the demise of SKELENZY (AMOS) on the 28th of January 2024.

2. To Demand for the Necessary Procedures (Post mortem for further investigation purposes) to be taken for the Body to be released for burial.

OUTCOMES

1. The Officer who is Responsible for the Gunshot has been INTERDICTED/SUSPENDED from DUTIES AND AWAITING FURTHER DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS AFTER INVESTIGATIONS ARE FINALLY DONE. (Internal Procedures of the Police Service)

2. The NECESSARY Arrangements are being made for the Processes to be followed towards the release of the Body For Burial.
