
An immigration officer within Nandom Municipality has been accused of Assisting some individuals in smuggling goods and services out of the country into neighboring Burkina Faso.
The immigration officer was reportedly helping in smuggling goods out of Nandom to Burkina Faso through the Gengenkpe unapproved route.
It happened yesterday, 16th February 2024 and the goods were impounded by the Nandom immigration.
The said immigration officer is stationed at Hamile border but resides in Nandom.
The goods belong to Nakpenaah Patrick. Former Constituency youth organizer of NPP in Nandom and were impounded in a vehicle with registration number UW-92-18.
The Officer only identified as Ali is reported to have connived with dismissed NPP Constituency Youth Organizer of Nandom,Mr. Patrick Nakpenaah to transport poly tanks, alcohol beverages and other items out of the country without documentation.
The Issue has been forwarded to the Upper West Regional Public Relations Officer of Ghana Immigration Service, ASP Ibn Yussif Duranaah Abdul-Moomin Seidu for further investigations.
