On the 3rd of January 2025 in the evening, an alarming attempted hijack took place involving a vehicle making its way to Wa. The incident happened between Nandom Waala and Hain. The car was occupied by several passengers, including five players of Malima who had travelled to Tumu to play a match againts Real 24hours which ended 2nil against Malima.

The troubling incident began when the armed robbers, positioned strategically along the roadside, signalled the driver to pull over. Sensing potential danger, the driver’s instincts kicked in, particularly when he spotted one of the assailants brandishing a firearm. In a split-second decision, the driver accelerated in a desperate bid to escape the looming threat.

As the vehicle sped away, one of the robbers discharged his weapon, firing at the moving car but fortunately missing his target.

Keeping his focus and determination to safeguard everyone on board, the driver pressed onward towards Hain, the nearest community, in hopes of reaching safety and averting any potential harm to the passengers, who were left shaken by the incident.
