Two major Personalities from Upper West Region selected by President Mahama into Ministerial Positions, Dr. Rashid Pelpuo and Lawyer Charles Lwanga are to face the Appointment committee in Parliament on Friday 29th January 2025 and 31st January 2025 Respectively.
Lawyer Charles Lwanga is the Upper West Regional Minister Designate whilst Dr. Rashid Hassan Pelpuo is the Minister Designate for Labor, Jobs and Employment.
Profile of Lawyer Charles Lwanga Puozuing
Charles is a private legal practitioner with more than 21 years’ experience. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Ghana Legon, a professional law certificate from the Ghana School of Law and a Master of Laws (LLM) Degree from the University of Ghana School of Law.
Charles is a people-oriented person, a teacher and team player who has lectured at the Ghana School of law, the Institute of Business Management (IBM), as well as the Institute of Professional Studies (IPS). He currently lectures at the SDD University of Business and Integrated Studies (UBIDS). A role he took up in 2022.
In his practice as a lawyer, he has worked with the Legal Aid Board, Kulendi@law and is the founding and managing partner of Puozuing & Associates, a full service law firm that is home to about twelve (12) lawyers.
Charles has been a National executive council (NEC) member of the NDC since 2018, the coordinator of the lawyers for the NDC in the Upper West Region and is currently serving his second term as the Upper West Regional Secretary of the NDC.
He is a native of Nyeni/Sabuli in the Jirapa Municipality of the Upper West Region, and a product of the St Francis Xavier Minor Seminary.
Charles is a Christian and married with two (2) daughters and a son.
Profile of Dr. Rashid Hassan Pelpuo
Dr. Pelpuo was Minister for Youth and Sports during Late Prof. Mills Tenure of Office, he was also Minister for public private partnership.
He has been member of Parliament For Wa Central Constituency since 2005.
He is a Teacher by profession and currently holds a PhD in African Studies. He Is the Leader of African Parliament.
