The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Chairman of Kantu in the Wechiau Electoral Area of the Wa West District, Mr. Yaraa Anas, has appealed to the government and benevolent organizations to provide classrooms for the junior high school (JHS) students in the community.

Mr Yaraa indicated that the JHS students are currently using a kindergarten (KG) block for their studies. At the same time, the KG and primary pupils have been combined in an uncompleted structure due to the lack of proper classroom facilities.

He noted that the community initiated a project in 2005 to construct a classroom block for the JHS students, but the project remains incomplete after nearly two decades.

In an interview with Info Radio, Mr. Yaraa recalled that the students previously had to sit under a stock pavilion for their lessons until the school was roofed, allowing them to move into the uncompleted structure.

However, he stressed that the current situation is still inadequate and affects the quality of education for the students.
