On Tuesday, March 25, 2025, the Upper West Regional Police Command convened a meeting with parties involved in creating and disseminating videos that have sparked tension, as well as those affected by these videos. This effort aims to sustain security, peace, and harmony in the Wa Municipality.

To foster a conducive environment, parties were met separately to advance peace and tranquility. The Command advised all parties to refrain from hate speech and inflammatory rhetoric that could undermine the peace.

In a message to high-profile clerics and their followers, the Command emphasized: “Let your preaching embody peace, hope, and compassion, avoiding condemnation and divisive language.”

To prevent a recurrence of the 1997 religious sect conflict in the Municipality, the Command urged these individuals to exercise restraint and due diligence.

The Regional Command reaffirms its commitment to sustaining peace and tranquility through continued stakeholder engagement, ensuring public trust and confidence.

By proactively addressing potential flashpoints, the Upper West Regional Police Command demonstrates its dedication to maintaining a secure and harmonious environment for all.
