The Nadowli-Kaleo District Assembly has on 16th June 2025 confirmed Madam Mary Haruna as DCE after a Tussle.

In April 2025, The Assembly Rejected Mary Haruna Outrightly. President, John Dramani Mahama Renominated the Candidate alongside Adamu Sayibu of Wa East District after they were both Rejected out of 11 Nominees Appointed in Upper West Region.

She Polled 46 Yes Votes, 8 No Votes and One Rejected Ballot to be confirmed as DCE.

The Former Vice President of Tein, Dr. Hilla Limann Technical University and Constituency Women Organizer of Nadowli-Kaleo was sworn in by the Electoral Commission in the Presence of Several Dignitaries including the Upper West Regional Minister, Lawyer Charles Lwanga Puozuing, Mr. Abdul Saani Nasir who is the Regional Chairman of NDC, Dr. Seidu Jasaw also the Member of Parliament for Wa East District, Upper West Regional Director of NADMO, Mr. Osman Sinsew etc.
