The Wa High Court presided over by his lordship Justice Yusif Assibey has placed an induction on a plan demonstration to be held in Nadowli on 21st of June 2025.

The injunction was placed on the Demonstration in a letter dated 20th June 2025 and issued by the court’s registrar to be delivered to the organizers of the planned demonstration.

According to the concerned youth group, the demonstration is to express their displeasure over what they described as the continuous exploitation of their natural resources by Azumah resources Limited without any significant development in their area.

The organizers issued a notice to the police of their intended Demonstration.

RE-NOTIFICATION OF DEMONSTRATION

The Nadowli-Kaleo District Police Command respectfully acknowledged your letter of the above subject matter for a peaceful demonstration slated on 21st June, 2025 at Nadowli township enroute to Azumah Resource GH LTD under the presentation of petition.

The Command wish to categorically state that, you exercise within the confinement of the PUBLIC ORDER ACT, 1994 ACT 491, any form of violence, causing damage, causing harın or vandalism or the running of essential services or violate the rights and freedoms of others persons, the organizers shall be held responsible under the ACT.

IT IS HEREBY by ordered by the Court that, the demonstration planned by the Respondents against Azumah Resources Ghana Ltd on Saturday the 21″ day of June, 2025 is hereby prohibited by this Honourable Court.
