Statement by the Mayor
We lost a two year old boy who fell in an uncompleted septic tank (Manhole) at Kumbiehi, a suburb of Wa.
Another uncompleted open septic tank (Manhole) was reported to me at Konta, St Andrews School, near the school park where children play football filled with water posing threat to their lives. I visited the school today and ordered its immediate closure, and by the close of day, it was closed.
I want to use this medium to put the message across the whole Metropolis that the operation “Close all Open Manholes” is launched and must be adhered to by all and sundry ,failure to adhere to will face the punitive consequences.
We are in a state of mourning , and May Allah grant all departed souls Jannatul firdaus.
Warm regards.
