Sabuli, Jirapa Municipality – August 20, 2025
In a significant boost to education in the Upper West Region, Cross Catholic Outreach, in collaboration with the Bishop of the Wa Diocese, today officially handed over a fully completed school building to the people of Sabuli in the Jirapa Municipality.

The newly inaugurated St. James Roman Catholic School project marks a milestone in the community’s longstanding efforts to improve access to quality education. Initiated by local residents years ago, the school has now been transformed thanks to the support of Cross Catholic Outreach, through the efforts of the Bishop of the Wa Diocese.
The handed-over facilities include:
A fully furnished Kindergarten (KG) block
A fully furnished Primary school block
A fully furnished Junior High School (JHS) block
A teachers’ bungalow
The provision of this infrastructure comes at a crucial time for the community, addressing long-standing challenges in education delivery. It is expected to significantly enhance teaching and learning outcomes in Sabuli and surrounding areas.
Speaking at the handing-over ceremony, local leaders and residents expressed profound gratitude for the support and emphasized the importance of maintaining the facilities to ensure sustainability.
This development underscores the powerful impact of collaboration between faith-based organizations and local communities in addressing educational needs in underserved areas.
