Several abhorrent developments have occurred at Duori in the Wa Metropolis in the Past 14 Months calling for attention from the Security Council.

1. Man Slaughtered Under a Long Vehicle. A Driver’s Mate was killed Earlier Hours of 15th July 2024 in Duori. Mr. Zakaria Ibrahim, Assembly Member for Duori Electoral Area expressed Fear About How the Serial killings Are Executed.
2. Security Man, Killed Near Presbyterian Basic School in Duori. On the 21st of September, Issah Yahaya, a security Man was murdered in Duori. The deceased was found lifeless in a pool of Blood within a mosque close to a mechanic shop along the Wa-Charia Road.
3. Anti Robbery Group Shoot Artisan Near Parks and Garden.A Police PID officer Only identified as Warris has reportedly shot a young man in the left leg at Duori, a Suburb of Wa around 11am on 1st of July 2025.The Victim by name Haruna Abdul Rashid from Tagirayiri was rushed to the Upper West Regional Hospital by a Musician known as Ibrahim Badingu after the Incident.
4. Child Drowns in a Pit at Duori: On the 8th – October – 2025, a two year old child only identified as Tuuro by Home Radio was feared dead after drowning in an open Manhole at Dopieni, a Suburb of Duori in the Wa Metropolis. Assembly Member for the Area, Hon. Zakaria Ibrahim Expressed shock calling for By-Laws to Curtail the development. It can be recalled that the Mayor of Wa, Alhaji Nurah Danwana Issued a directive on 7th August 2025 for Manholes to be closed.”We lost a two year old boy who fell in an uncompleted septic tank (Manhole) at Kumbiehi, a suburb of Wa.Another uncompleted open septic tank (Manhole) was reported to me at Konta, St Andrews School, near the school park where children play football filled with water posing threat to their lives. I visited the school today and ordered its immediate closure, and by the close of day, it was closed.I want to use this medium to put the message across the whole Metropolis that the operation “Close all Open Manholes” is launched and must be adhered to by all and sundry ,failure to adhere to will face the punitive consequences.We are in a state of mourning , and May Allah grant all departed souls Jannatul firdaus.Warm regards,”
5. Man Found Dead in a Gutter at Duori. On the 9th of June 2025, A man was found dead inside a big gutter near Wa parks and Gardens.

It can be recalled that on Wednesday, 8th October 2025, the Upper West Regional Police Command headed by ACP Francis Yiribaare revealed that two suspects were arrested in line with series of serial killing in Wa. The two suspects were arrested on 3rd and 6th October 2025 and confessed to killing 15 Persons in Upper West and Savannah Region.

This calls for Mor security Deployment and improved lightening in the Area. The Assembly Member, Hon. Zakaria Ibrahim has called for collaboration to address security concerns in the Area.
