In the early hours of Tuesday, February 24, 2026, residents of Bussie in the Dafiama-Bussie-Issa (DBI) District, Upper West Region, discovered the mutilated body of an adult male, plunging the community into shock.
BUSSIEThe victim, identified as Alhassan Kobina—widely known as Yenkongkoa—was found lifeless in an uncompleted building near the Bussie market. Believed to be in his forties, Yenkongkoa hailed from Naayiri Paalaa, a suburb of Bussie, and was known for assisting butchers at the market without any history of violence.
A source close to the scene reported that the body had been castrated, with the severed testicles placed on a window ledge, suggesting a brutal and deliberate attack.
Bussie police have secured the crime scene and are awaiting reinforcement from the Nadowli/Kaleo District Police Command, which oversees the DBI District, to transport the body for further investigation.
No arrests have been made, and the motive remains unclear as investigations continue.
