Suspects have been Remanded in Prison Custody by Wa Magistrate Court and to Reappear in court on the 26th of March 2026.

POLICE ARREST FOUR SUSPECTS IN WA WEST DISTRICT ROBBERY INCIDENTS
- The Upper West Regional Police Command has arrested four suspects in connection with two separate robbery incidents that occurred within the Wa West District in recent weeks.
- Three of the suspects identified as Iddrisu Sidibey (19), Abdulai Bandey (20) and Suleman Issah Zibrim (23) robbed the first victim Thomas Dormatey, a teacher of his mobile phone and cash of two thousand, six hundred Ghana cedis (GHC2600) on February 28, 2026 between Gadi and Chogsia communities after shooting him in the leg. The second victim, Issah Ibrahim was also robbed on March 8, 2026 at the same scene of his mobile phone and two thousand, seven hundred and fifty Ghana cedis (GHC2750) whiles he was returning from Jagluu community at 7:30pm.
- In both incidents the suspects, usually masked and armed with firearms and machetes, emerged from nearby bushes and attacked their victims.
- Upon intelligence and coordinated operation, the suspects were arrested at Chogsia community and positively identified by the complainants as the perpetrators. A search conducted on them resulted in the retrieval of two (2) cutlasses and four (4) mobile phones, which have been taken as exhibits to assist ongoing investigations.
- On March 11, 2026, suspect Bandey led the Police to arrest one of their accomplices, Abdul Rahman Abdulai at Gojiyiri near Wechau, supplier of the firearm used for the robberies. Suspect Abdulai further led the police to retrieve the firearm, which was found hidden in the bush. Other accomplices namely; Adil and Sambo are currently at large and being sought for by the police.
- The suspects were arraigned before the Wa District Magistrate Court and remanded into custody to reappear on March 26, 2026.
- The Upper West Regional Police Command assures the public of its continued commitment of ensuring safety and security of all residents.
