On the 3rd of April 2026, the Member of Parliament for Wa West Constituency, Rt. Supt. Peter Lanchene Toobu outlined Plans by Government Officials to Tour and inspect the Big Push Road Contract of Wa-Sawla-Wenchi Awarded by President Mahama in November 2025.
He expressed concern over delay in Commencement of the Road project per the timelines outlined by the Ministry of Roads.
So Far, the Wa-Sawla Stretch awarded to Messrs Meripoma Enterprise is yet to begin since November 2025.

To all Contractors on N12 (Wenchi – Wa)
Very soon a high-powered delegation of leaders from.the Upper West Region shall undertake a monitoring tour of part of the N12 road under the BIG PUSH project.
All the Contractors on the Wa – Wenchi part of the N12 should be in readiness to let road users and the general public appreciate their capacity, competence and respect for timelines.
The event will receive full media coverage for the desired maximum effect.
The BIG PUSH must push through from Wenchi to Wa in good time.
The commitment of President John Dramani Mahama as well as the industry of the Roads & Highways Minister, Hon Kwame Governs Agbodza to this flagship project can not be over emphasized.
Parliamentary oversight on major projects like that of the BIG PUSH must be in the front burner.
We represent the people and their concerns must awaken our conscience to show full interest in the President’s flagship project.
