The Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has been honored with a chieftaincy title by the Sankana Naa ahead of this year’s Kalibi Festival.
At a colorful ceremony in Sankana, the revered traditional leader officially enskinned him as a chief, bestowing on him the title Yelminni Naa Yelkaabaare Kongkpewuo—a significant recognition of his service and leadership.
The enskinment comes just as the Kalibi Festival kicks off today 25th April 2026, Carried out under Authority of Naa Pagraninge Saakoe Mornah III and drawing attention to the rich culture and traditions of the people of Sankana.

He Supported the Program with Ghc50,000.

The People of Sankana migrated from Karaga in the Northern Region to Present Day Sankana, Years Ago.
The Paramount Chief of the Karaga Traditional Area in Dagbon Naa Bakpem KarNaa Abdulai Natogmah visited for the Sankana Kalibi Ganlaa Festival.
