The Wa Central Constituency Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has explained into details why The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Constituency Secretariat was unable to disburse an amount of Ghc40,000 to about 217 branches resulting in misconceptions within the spheres of the Party.

Speaking to Mr. Baba Jamal, a Journalist with Sungmaale FM on The Radio Station’s Weekly Bongara Talk Show, Mr. Salifu Tamaah expressed concerns over speculations surrounding the Issue.

He. revealed that, monies were given to branch executives by The party’s election coordinator through the intervention of Alhaji Alhassan Gbangu’s Ghc40,000 to secure forms for 44 Branches in Wa Central Constituency.

Statement from the Secretary – Mr. Salifu Tamaah

We have released the Ghc40,000 to Coordinators to be distributed to the Aspiring branch Executives, simple as that, I was contacted by Alhaji Alhassan Gbangu and in our conversation, he expressed interest in supporting Aspiring branch Executives with a token, he told me he wanted to release an amount of money to me for distribution to branch Executives so I had to calculate the number of branches which is 217 multiplied by number of people per branch which is 9. After the analysis I had to refer him to my Constituency Chairman. My Constituency chairman Insisted we cannot distribute the amount of Ghc40,000 to branches, so the money was released to the election coordinator.

On the 2nd of May 2026, Alhaji Famina, the Constituency Chairman was accused of rejecting an amount of Ghc40,000 from A Party Financier by name Alhaji Alhassan Gbangu. The money was meant to secure forms for all branch Executives in Wa Central Constituency. The Constituency Chairman revealed that the elections coordinator was the right person to receive the Money. Meanwhile, Alhaji Gbangu also revealed that he gave the money to the Constituency Secretary for disbursement not the Chairman.
