As a leader of the Upper West MPs Caucus, I joined the Minister for Roads and Highways, Hon. Kwame Governs Agbodza, the Deputy Minister, Hon. Alhassan Suhuyini and a team from the Ministry to tour and inspect ongoing Big Push road projects on the Wenchi-Bole-Sawla-Wa highways yesterday.

Our mission was to ensure the fruitful delivery of His Excellency the President’s commitments and to guarantee that quality work is done for the people of the Upper West Region and that stretch of the roads.

We made several stops to assess progress. The Minister expressed displeasure at the slow pace of construction by some contractors and urged them to attach seriousness and urgency to the projects.

This inspection also responds to concerns raised by the Upper West Caucus, as well as reports from the Regional Ministers for Upper West, Savannah and Bono Regions on the slow pace of work.

The monitoring team earlier received a petition today Tuesday, from some section of the youth of WA with some demands to ensuring the progress of work on the roads. The Minister and the team assured the good people of the upper west of timely and quality road work.

The people of the Upper West Region deserve durable roads that connect our communities and grow our economy. We will not relent until that is achieved.

We will continue to monitor closely until quality roads are delivered for our people.
