The Member of Parliament for Wa Central Constituency, Hon. Dr. Abdul-Rashid Hassan Pelpuo, today released a comprehensive report on the utilisation of his share of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) on developmental projects and programmes implemented across the constituency between April and August 2026.
The highlights strategic disbursement in education, health, water and sanitation, economic empowerment, and infrastructure—reflecting the MP’s commitment to improving the quality of life for constituents and delivering on commitment made during the period under review.

Key Projects and Programmes (April–August 2026)

  1. Education Sector Interventions:
    Rehabilitation of Dormitory Blocks (Nakori-Chansa Technical Institute): GH₵65,970.00 (processes ongoing.)
    Rehabilitation of Bamahu K.G Block: GH₵65,000 (processes ongoing)
    Support to 102 Tertiary students for payment of school fees: GH₵237, 182
    Student feeding (Northen star senior high school). GH₵ 10,000
  2. Health Sector:
    Completion of Dokpong CHPS Maternity Block: GH₵77,500
    Municipal Hospital (Rehabilitation of Male and Children’s Wards): GH₵135,337.35 (processes ongoing).
    Support to NHIA to renew/register new constitunce:GH₵14,172.00
    Payment of three(3) needy persons critical medical bills:GH₵30,000.00
  3. Water and Sanitation
    Rehabilitation of selected boreholes across the constituency: GH₵17,500
  4. Economic Empowerment and Livelihood Support
    Stimulus package to support 21 Women and Men in their business: GH₵66,500
    Support for Youth skills training: GH₵20,000
  5. Road Infrastructure:
    Reshaping and opening of access roads within the municipality: GH₵125,000
  6. Institutional Strengthening
    Support for religious activities: GH₵30,000
    Support to Traditional authority activities: GH₵33,000
    Support to Waali Baabu project:GH₵23,000
    Support to Municipal Education Directorate; GH₵10,000
    Support to Wa Municipal Complementary Education Agency: GH₵13,000
    Law students’ association UBIDS GH₵20,000
  7. Community Specialised Project:
    Construction of public gathering pavilion at Dondoli: GH₵68,400
  8. Sports/Entertainment and Cultural activities:
    Support to football clubs: GH 37,000
    Support to Miss Dumba 2026: GH 10,000
    Support for Inter Districts Sports festival: GH₵15,000
    Ghana air-borne Scout Association :GH₵5000
    Support for the Home Radio inter-Community Games: GH₵20,000
  9. Disaster intervention:
    Support to fire victims; GH₵21,000
    Total Expenditure and Impact
    Between April and August 2026, a total of GH¢1,169,561.35 from the MP’s share of the District Assembly Common Fund was disbursed across the above sectors towards advancing development for the municipality.
    all projects/activities were executed in close collaboration with the Wa Municipal Assembly, traditional authorities, and all other relevant institutions to ensure transparency, accountability, and alignment with local development priorities.
