The Ministry of Roads and Highways has announced plans to complete the Wa–Han–Tumu–Bolgatanga Road by the end of 2027.
Speaking during a road inspection tour on Thursday, September 3, the Minister for Roads and Highways, Governs Kwame Agbodza, said work on most sections of the road had progressed to the sub-base stage, with contractors expected to accelerate construction to meet the deadline.
The Ministry has also directed contractors to carry out pothole patching and other sectional repairs on existing sections of the road to improve safety and ease movement for motorists while construction continues.
It said progress on the project would be closely monitored to ensure the road is completed within the set timeframe.
“By the end of 2027 from Wa to Bolga has to be fully completed. There’s no reason we can’t do it. My concern was just exiting Wa, so let’s implement something right now” he said.
