The Member of Parliament for Wa East Constituency, Hon.Dr. Godfred Seidu Jasaw, has presented a generous financial initiative aimed at easing the burden on families as students transition from basic education to senior high school. In a move to support recent Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) graduates, Dr. Jesaw on Wednesday provided a grant of 1,000 Ghana cedis to each qualifying student.

The initiative specifically targets students who achieved an aggregate score between 6 and 35, offering them direct financial assistance to facilitate their educational pursuits. Speaking to Info Radio, Dr. Jesaw emphasized that the primary goal of the grant is to alleviate financial constraints that often hinder students from continuing their education seamlessly. “This support is intended to encourage academic excellence and ensure that no student is forced to abandon their educational aspirations due to lack of funds,” he stated.

The District Chief Executive (DCE), Adamu Shaibu, also addressed the graduates, urging them to approach their future academic and professional endeavors with discipline and determination. He highlighted the importance of this transitional phase and called on students to remain focused and committed to their goals. The DCE also extended his gratitude to the MP for his compassionate initiative, which he described as a significant step toward improving educational access in the constituency.
