On Tuesday, 20th October, 2026, Several Community members of Mangu and traders of Wa New Market expressed worry about an abandoned road that could serve as a link and a source of access to several Social amenities including hospitals in the heart of Town.

They appealed to the Mayor Of Wa, Alhaji Nurah Issah Danwana and Member of Parliament for Wa Central, Dr Rashid Hassan Pelpuo to Assist in getting the Road fixed by fixing the Bonkperi Bridge.

Issues

The Road has a Bridge that was constructed few years ago, however the bride isn’t suitable for connected two portions of the road together due to intense erosion on the Mangu Stretch, heavy rains resulted in volumes of water triggering erosion and disconnecting the stretch.

Significance

The Less than 1km Road would Serve Several Communities including Aahiyao, Gbegruu, Zingu, Sombo, Siriyiri, Nakore, Gbache, Kpaguri , Duori, Kambali and link them to the New Market, Regional Hospital, Airport and also reduce Traffic on Major Roads in Town.

Some Elderly Women were compelled to walk in Contaminated Water in order to cross over from New Market to Mangu due to the Short Distance. Some Complained of Infections.
