A road construction project from Tumu in the Sissala East Municipality to Han in the Jirapa Municipality is set to be awarded and starting End of May 2022.
According to the Regional Minister the Sword cutting is expected to take place on the 25th of May 2022 in Partnership with the Ministry of Roads and Highways.
The Tumu-Han-Wa Road I an Economic and International Road Linking Upper West Region g the Upper East Region. There has been several demands and petitions written to several institutions concerned to get the road fixed.
Months ago, the Sissala West MP, Hon. Mohammed Sukparu was attacked by robbers on the Tumu Jeffisi Road on his way from an occasion, the development as attributed to the nature of the road make it unsafe for road users.
Drivers and commuters of the Wa-Han-Tumu road are demanding the quick completion of the road which has become unmotorable.
The deplorable road has caused financial loss to drivers and leaves commuters stranded as vehicles breakdown on each trip.
The Paramount Chief of the Tumu Traditional Area, Kuoro Richard Babini Kanton in 2020 appealed to government to work on the Wa-Tumu trunk road to facilitate business transaction between the Sissala Districts and other parts of the country.
