The Wa Circuit Court had on 14th of June 2023 Sentenced a young man by name Prosper Sungbabora Luka to 7 years in Prison for having Carnal knowledge of a Child below 16 years contrary to Section 101 of the Criminal Offenses Act 1960 (Act 29).

He first Appeared in Court on 9th May 2023 and Subsequently on 19th May 2023 before he was Sentenced for the Act.

Defilement has been on the Rise in the Upper West Region with some notable instances being that of a Young Man by Name Rashid Anaata Having Carnal Knowledge of Some Underaged Girls in the Past, He is currently on the Run after the BAHASS Foundation Filed a Case against him at the Commission of Human Rights and Administrative Justice.
