Rt. Hon. Alban Kingsford Bagbin(Second from Right)

The decision by governments to categorize secondary schools into A, B, C, D and so on is unfair and discriminatory and must be stopped as soon as practicable.

Speaking in Wa during an inspection of an Auditorium being built for the Wa Senior High School, Rt Hon Alban Bagbin expressed a strong opposition to the policy of categorizing senior high schools which in his opinion is a recipe for bias and further deprivation.

According to the Rt Hon Speaker, every school anywhere across the country is entitled to the best of infrastructure needed for the enhancement and facilitation of smooth teaching and learning.

In his opinion, this is the surest way by which the yawning gap in education between privileged and deprived schools can be bridged to achieve parity and equity in education.

To this end, the Speaker made a solemn pledge to lobby and advocate for the allocation of modern school infrastructure for schools in the Upper West Region.
