Dr. Henry Seidu Daanaa who is the aspiring parliamentary candidate for Wa East constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has expressed displeasure over the remarks his colleague Godfrey Tanu who is also the parliamentary aspirant of Wa East on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party(NPP), had made about his disability on radio(W93.5fm) in Wa when he was being interviewed recently. Mr. Tangu labeled Dr. Daanaa a blind man who lacks vision to lead the constituency and by this suggested Dr. Daanaa was insulting the people to think they would want a blind man as a leader.
Mr. Daanaa on a campaign tour at loggu in Wa East talked of the issue and referred to Tangu as myopic for such comments, he said ” I know I am blind but I wasn’t born blind it was God’s making. Tangu shouldn’t think he knows his end besides I am educated and the president has seen me to be capable of handling leadership positions, haven’t I served my people well? I was also born by a man and a woman . It would be better to follow a blind man who can provide rather than someone with sight who can’t produce.’’
Mr. Seidu Daanaa is the minister of Chieftaincy And Culture.
