The District Chief Executive for the Sissala East District Hon. Karim Nanyua has assured that government is determined to complete all high ways and feeder roads awarded for upgrading, he also talked of constructing more roads to open up the sissala east district to be able facilitate transportation of goods and services and people.
Despite the deplorable nature of roads in the area, the DCE says when all the awarded roads are completed, life will be more comfortable for road users. Meanwhile, he stressed that it is essential for some broken bridges and culverts to be constructed to boost local economic development in affect communities.
In line with the broken bridges and culverts Hon. Karim Nanyua expressed worry about inaccessibility of the affected areas, and emphasized there is the need for work to begin since we are in the full season of rain. “I was privileged to meet the director of bridges, Ghana High Authority from their office in Accra and took advantage of the meeting to plead with him to consider working on the bridges” he disclosed. The high ways to be upgraded are the Tumu-Wellembelle road (36km), Tumu-Sorbelle road (10km), and Tumu-Navrongo road (32.5KM), then Tumu-Han road (60km). The feeder roads which work is currently on-going and are at various stages of completion are the Nabugubelle-Dolibizon feeder road (12.50km), Nabugubelle-Mwanduono feeder road (11.00), Bugubelle-Sentie feeder road (16.80), Bawiesibelle-Nabulo feeder road (15.00km)(phase I and II). Challu-Nabugubelle feeder road (20.00km) and emergency works at Tinabelle-Bawiesibelle and Dasima-Sentie feeder roads (12.00km), then Tumu-Challu-Tarsor road.
