Here are the steps one has to go through before getting enlisted:
1. Online Registration:
Purchase an e-voucher at a cost of GHC50.00 from the Ghana Commercial Bank and complete online application form at https://police.gov.gh.services after which you will be prompted if you qualified
2. Body selection exercise and physical screening:
Applicants must wait for official communication from the police service via e-mail, sms and publication on the e-recruitment portal to come for a body selection exercise and physical screening of all relevant documents including birth certificates, academic certificates and transcripts.
Qualified applicants will be notified at the centre.
3. Examination and aptitude test:
General duty and graduate professional applicants will write an exam and aptitude test respectively.
All relevant information concerning this will be communicated to the applicants and those who become successful will be notified.
Graduate and professional applicants who pass the aptitude test will be invited for an interview.
4. Background checks and medical examination:
Applicants who pass the first three steps would be subjected to a thorough background check including vetting of certificates and check of criminal record.
5. Training and practical attachment:
Applicants will then be admitted for a three-month under-cadet training after which they will be posted for a six-month practical attachment at a police station
The Ghana Police Service will from Monday, November 20, begin a mass recruitment exercise.
The Director-General for Human Resource Development, COP Beatrice Vib-Sanziri said that the available categories are “General Duty Recruits, Tradesmen Recruits, Graduates (General Duty) and Graduates Professionals”.
The sale and purchase of vouchers to be used for the application process will be closed on Friday, 15 December while online application closes at 23:59 hours GMT on Sunday, December 24, 2017
