District Chief Executive of the Nadowli-Kaleo, Katherine Lankono has presented furniture to the District Education Directorate for distribution.
The furniture,which comprise 200 desks,100 mono desks ,10 teachers tables and chairs and 8 cardboards,will be distributed to schools in the district. The gesture was part of her efforts to improve teaching and learning as well.
Hon Kate T.lankono, also inspects on-going works on ultra modern toilet facility at the McCoy College of Education in the Nadowli town.She said the Assembly decided to undertake the project because education is a mutual responsibility.
She was hopeful that the project will go along way to improving the educational lives of students on campus.
She ended her day at Duong-Billi,here Hon Kate has broken ground for the commencement of work on one of the government’s top priority projects ‘One village one dam’ Duong-Billi one of beneficiary communities.
The Duong-Billi project which has already kicked off earnestly is first of the ten dams allocated to the district and nine more will be constructed at the other communities in the coming weeks.
Speaking at the sod-cutting ceremony on Friday.Hon Kate T.lankono noted that the project is in line with government’s vision of ensuring food security,bringing prosperity to the rurals folks and transforming lives through agriculture.
She was particular happy that the community will from next farming season make use of the dam to cultivate lands that could have otherwise become unusable because of lack of water.
