Few Days after one case if Covid-19 was recorded in Wa, Upper West, quite a number of people have questioned measures being taken to prevent the spread.

On the 27th of March 2020, a 42 year old was diagnosed with the virus in Wa after he travelled from Italy through to Egypt to Ghana without being tested.
Mr. Arafat from Nayiri travelled via A Bus to Wa after which he took a tricycle alone with the rider to meet his girlfriend, a nurse stationed at Jang in the Nadowli-Kaleo District,they afterwards went to a hotel to rest . The said nurse has been called to be diagnosed by the health Directorate after isolation.
Efforts have been put in place to identify the tricycle rider who dropped the victim of Covid-19.

Efforts are being put in place to quarantine health workers at Jang.

The Upper West Regional Health Directorate has also mounted a Checkpoint at Piisi, a custom barrier close to the farming community in order to test travellers coming inn from Tamale, Kumasi, Accra, Techiman etc. Many have called for swift measures to station another checkpoint in Bamboi as most passengers travelling from Down south to upper West Alight before they get to Piisi in the Wa Municipality.

Finally, the Upper West Regional Minister has asked for the Wa Central Market to be sprayed on 1st April 2020 Amidst Coronavirus Spread.
