In response to a letter dated 11th of January 2021 and written by the Chief of Staff, Madam Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, the Residents of Sissala West District in the Upper West Region have drawn the attention of the Chief of Staff that they have no District Chief Executive as their DCE was sacked by the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in September 2020.
Mr. Mohammed Bakor, the former District Chief Executive for Sissala West District in Upper West Region was asked to step aside in a letter dated 29th September 2020 by the former Minister for Local Government, Hajia Alima Mahama.
He was asked to handover to the Upper West Regional Minister Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih whose tenure expired on the 7th of January 2021.
The Reason for his dismissal was not stated in the Note signed by the local government minister.
This means the development of Sissala West will be on a stand still as other districts begin preparations of plans and how to execute them following the directive that all active MMDCE’s can keep running the affairs of their offices.
His dismissal came inn few Days after the D.C.E for Sekyere East was asked to step aside, she was later reinstated.
