Covid-19: Upper West Has Over 60 Active Cases – GHS

According to the Ghana Health Service report on covid-19 as at 29th of January 2021,  the Upper West Region has over 60 active cases.

The Region has Discharged 126 people in total as patients who have recovered.

62 people are still in critical condition and can’t be discharged. A total of 188 cases were recorded for Upper West Region.

The Upper West Region through the Regional Coordinating council has procured covid-19 equipment to stock the Upper West Regional Hospital as a mode of preparation towards managing the pandemic.

Two senior high school students in the past week contracted the virus in St. Francis Xavier Minor Seminary located in Wa, the Upper West Region of Ghana.

According to the Rector,  Rev. Brother Pamphelius, the student complained of pains and fever and as a result were rushed to the hospital, some tests were conducted on them and it proved they were positive. One is from Hamile and the other from Wa.

The Upper West Regional Police Command has cautioned residents to observe the protocols to avoid arrests.
