Wa West: Bukari Ali Set for MMDCE Elections Tomorrow

Mr. Bukari Ali, NPP Communication Officer for Upper West Region and MMDCE nominee for Wa West

The President’s MMDCE Nominee for Wa West District,  Mr. Bukari Ali is set for a second election at the Wa West District Assembly after failing to get 2/3 of the Assembly Members on his side during his first round.

Mr. Bukari Ali Polled 15 “YES” Votes whilst 26 Assembly Members voted “NO”,  the development disqualified him from a second attempt till the president renominated him for The second time.

Sources attributed it to the fact that a government official which is the Member of Parliament for the Area hails from Ponyentanga and so is the NPP Constituency Chairman, the sources added that Mr. Bukari Also coming from Ponyentanga would deny other tribes the Mandate of leadership.

Voting shall take place at the Wa West District Assembly hall on Saturday the 23rd of October 2021.

Meanwhile two Municipalities including Lawra and Jirapa have rejected their Nominees for the third time.
