Former IGP and Paramount Chief of Jirapa, Naa Peter Nanfuri

The death has been reported of the Former Inspector General of Police(IGP) under the Jerry John Rawlings regime Peter Tenganabang Nanfuri has died.

Family sources available to MyNewsGh.com reveal the former police chief died on Thursday February 16, 2023..

Mr Nanfuri tagged a ‘No Nonsense man’ was the Director of the Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) 1986. In 1996, he was appointed as the Inspector General of Police.
After his service in the Ghana Police Service, he was enskinned Paramount Chief of the Jirapa Traditional Area with the title Naa Ansoleh Ganaa II in 2007.

He was born in October 12, 1942 in Jirapa in the Upper West Region of Ghana. He had his university education at the University of Ghana, Legon.
