The 6th Congregation Ceremony of Dr Hilla Limann Technical University was held on 30th of May 2025. Several Students Graduated including first Batch of Degree Students.
outgoing VC Announced the Introduction of 2 Masters Degree Programs in Agric and Mechanical Engineering.

This was revealed by Prof Elias Sowley who was appointed as first vice Chancellor of the University in 2021.

Academic Programs

The University has been given clearance to run two master of Technology Programs namely master of Technology in Mechanical Engineering and and Management

  1. Master of Technology in Irrigation and Conservation Agriculture

This is what marks the beginning of Graduate Studies in the University

These courses shall run in 2025/2026 Academic Year

Master of Science Program in Construction Engineering and Management is at the final stage of Accreditation and will be added to those we will run hopefully in 2025/2026 Academic Year.

Two additional masters programs will be developed under a two projects that the university is running currently, that is agrico farm project so we will Have Agro Ecology and Food Systems program that is About to be dispatched to GTEC and another Masters program on Waste Management

He encouraged graduates of this university to take advantage of this program to develop themselves better.

Two more bachelor Degree programs have been added to the nine we Recorded last year, this brings to 11 the number of Accredited Degree Programs that we currently run. I urge HND Graduates to take advantage of these programs.

He indicated that the university is currently running 14 HND Programs which are all Fully accredited.

Admissions

2024/2025 Academic Year,

The University Received 2015 Applications, 1621 were Admitted made up 1,062 males, 559 females were offered Admissions

HND – 887
4 Year BTech – 493
2 Year Top Up BTech – 241

These Fresh Students were Matriculated on 28th February 2025.

In 2021, DHLTU had One Professor, Today, 30th May 2025, The University has Four Professors – Prof Elias Sowley, Outgoing VC of DHLTU

We urge government to grant us more financial clearance to recruit more Lecturers to handle the bachelor of Technology Programs being run by the University.

The University was given 21 limited slots to Recruit and those Slots were issued more to the Faculties to Recruit Lecturers, they need more teaching Staff –

10 Senior Members Teaching, 3 Senior Members (Non-Teaching), 3 Senior Staff and Five (5) Junior Staff.
