Some stakeholders including land owners and agents have lamented over what day refer to as an authorized levies charge by some staff of the lands commission. Per Their statement issued to Upper West Media team, it’s saddening and baffling that some of these levies are charged without issuing receipts.

A whistle Blower Stated.

“I paid Ghc1,300 for a site plan, that’s what they take lately, a lease goes for Ghc2,500 summing up to Ghc3,800 without Receipts. Under normal circumstances it shouldn’t exceed Ghc900 because grounds rent is the key thing and it’s charged for three years summing up to Ghc90, meaning Ghc30 per year.”

In 2019, a site plan for a single plot in Wa was Ghc600 whilst two was going for Ghc800.

Thank you for bringing attention to this pressing issue regarding the unauthorized levies and the lack of transparency in land transactions. It is indeed troubling to hear that stakeholders, including landowners and agents, are facing unreceipted charges that far exceed the standard fees, leading to confusion and mistrust.
