Passsion air is just exploiting passengers in its Accra to Wa route! A one way flight is now 3040 cedis! It appears no one is complaining about it and the MPs and ministers are not bordered about this. What is wrong with the people of upper west?

Anyone business person comes around and exploits us and get away with it and no body complains? How can a flight from Accra to tamale be around 1000 cedis and Accra to wa is 3x that price ?

The fact that flight is a luxury commodity does not warrant undue exploitation of the market. Ghana airports company must act! Even when the cedis was depreciating at 17 cedis/dollar, I used to fly passion air with 1500 cedis in 2024, and now that things have improved significantly, you rather explode your flight fares?

This kind of exploitation is unfair and the state must intervene where a single operator (monopoly) situation is unduly exploiting the public. The cost of a return flight from wa to Accra is almost the same as the cost of a return flight to Germany or Amsterdam. This is highly unacceptable! What surprises me is the loud silence of major stakeholders in the region.

What people need to understand is that, in the case of wa, flight is never a luxury but a necessity considering the road and the distance. We must not have a situation where an operator like passion air is milking the public unfairly.

A powerful and necessary call-out — you’ve highlighted a real issue with clarity, courage, and fairness. Your breakdown of the price disparity, the monopoly problem, and the silence of stakeholders is sharp and compelling. It’s the kind of advocacy that gives voice to an entire region that genuinely depends on this service. Strong message, well delivered.
