The forecourt of the Upper West Regional Coordinating Council was seen Present, Chiefs,MMDCE’s,the Upper West MP,s Caucus,High Profile dignitaries from within and outside the region,School Pupils from various schools especially Catholic,Islamic and some selected Special Schools to receive items from the Vice President on behalf of 26 selected schools in the Upper West region.

These schools composed of Senior High and Technical Schools,Junior High and Primary Schools.

The Upper West Regional minister Lawyer Charles Pouizuing in his welcome address said the project seeks to promote health and hygiene in school children to remain healthy in school to avoid stigmatization each time they are on their menstrual cycle especially female students.

The vice president in her address to school Pupils encouraged the school Children to be hard working and that it is not for nothing that their parents are investing so much in their education.

I want you to be more and much better than me,
We realized girls were always missing in schools.
Connection between going and moving in schools was missing so we took up this initiative through
drilling many boreholes,
inspecting bathrooms in schools to ensure good personal hygiene among our precious students.

We also intend removing educational obstacles
to ensure they become Assets and not obstacles she said.

Your parents have invested in you to study hard and take subjects seriously especially the difficult ones she added.

Presenting items made up of detergents,sanitary pads and toiletries symbolically a Student of Wa Senior High School Shuhaimah Alhassan recited a beautiful yet insightful and inspiring Poem to encourage leaders that invest much into girl child education.
