Upper West Regional Command has arrested two suspects—Seidu Muizu (20) and Salifu Mutada (22)—in connection with an armed robbery on May 30, 2026, along the Tumu-Kowie road..

· Victims were robbed at gunpoint; an unregistered Apsonic motorbike was stolen.

· Swift intelligence-led operation led to recovery of the bike & arrest of suspects.

· A second unregistered Loujia motorbike (suspected to be the crime vehicle) was also retrieved.

· Suspects may be linked to a series of recent robberies terrorizing Tumu & surrounding areas.

Both suspects are in custody assisting investigations. The public is commended for their cooperation—and urged to keep sharing timely information to help fight crime.

POLICE ARREST TWO SUSPECTED ROBBERS AND RECOVER STOLEN MOTORBIKE IN TUMU

  1. The Upper West Regional Police Command has arrested two robbery suspects in connection with a robbery incident that occurred on 30th May 2026 along the Tumu-Kowie road in the Sissala East District.
  2. Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects, identified as Seidu Muizu aged 20 years and Salifu Mutada aged 22 years, allegedly robbed three persons at gunpoint and made away with an unregistered Apsonic motorbike. Following swift intelligence-led operation, Police successfully recovered the stolen motorbike and arrested the suspects.
  3. Further investigations led to the retrieval of an unregistered Loujia motorbike believed to have been used in the commission of the crime. Both exhibits have been impounded to assist ongoing investigations.
  4. Information gathered so far suggests that the suspects may be linked to a series of robbery activities that have recently terrorized residents within the Tumu area and its environs. Police are therefore extending investigations to establish their possible involvement in other criminal activities reported in the district.
  5. The suspects are currently in Police custody assisting with investigations, while efforts are underway to recover the firearm allegedly used in the robbery.
  6. The Upper West Regional Police Command commends members of the public for their cooperation and encourages residents to continue providing timely information to support the fight against crime.
