Motorbikes are reliable source of Transportation lately Within the Upper West Region and several parts of the Savannah Region.
Despite the High Demand for Bikes our Maintenance Culture is a concern compelling several riders to replace expensive bikes regularly.
These are three signs a Motorbike is substandard.
- Influx of too many spare parts of that Bike is a sign it’s substandard. If a bike has issues you begin to see too many spare parts of it in the market and indication that any part of it can fail you at anytime and at that point you need to replace.
- Check and blow(press) the Horn. Substandard Bikes have bleak and weak horn sound, the low tempo of a Motorbike’s Horn is a clear indication that some other parts of it aren’t genuine even though it’s new
- Check from others using it at Popular places like market, Church, Mosque etc and monitor the speedometer screen, headlamp it’s becoming brown in a short period, it’s a clear indication that the bike is substandard.
It should be noted that Motorbikes require the following to function properly including constant replacement of oil(800km not Monthly). Also readjust the chain and smear oil on it randomly to improve its functionality and reduce fuel consumption. Do not leave do many keys hanging on your ignition key, it’ll loosen the who and the key can fall off at any time. Lastly, do not wash your bike immediately after a long journey or after over speeding, the cold water will compress the engine, damaging gaskets and lining and compelling the engine to produce inconsistent sounds and oil leakage.
