A group of Unidentified Men Stormed Ponyentanga Market on Thursday, 4th June 2026 which was a market day, Seized Snuff(Enye), Other Table Top Drugs.

The unidentified group Charged snuff Sellers Ghc300 and Table Top Drug sellers Ghc1,500 According eyewitnesses including market women.

In the process of operation, the Individuals didn’t reveal their identities and also concealed their id cards.

It can be recalled that the Upper West Regional Minister, Lawyer Charles Lwanga Puozuing in partnership with the Security Services formed a taskforce in mid 2025 led by DCOP Darko Offei Lomotey, then Upper West Regional Police Commander.

The taskforce was to educate, regulate and curtail the abuse of drugs in partnership with Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) and Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC).

Much is yet to be heard from the taskforce.
