On the 6th of July 2026, Joy News Upper East Regional Corresponding Reporter, Mr. Albert Sore Took a Tour in Upper West Region and Observed several things about our Roads.

Statement

Over the weekend, I traveled to the Upper West Region on assignment.

Before leaving, I psyched myself and prepared for a bumpy drive on a terrible road, as we have known it to be, especially if you use the Tumu side.

However, I was pleasantly surprised to see that a lot of construction was ongoing on the road. Some parts were tarred and some of the other parts that were not yet tarred, had been levelled and made smooth for travel (the only problem was the dust).

The journey took us far less time than we had imagined although there was a lot more work left to be done on the road.

At this rate, if work does not stall or stop, we should soon have a completely smooth road connecting the Upper East and West Regions.

I took these videos on the stretch from Banu to Kunchoko and to Pinna. Then from Navarabie to Dimajan number 1 and 2 to parts of Tumu.

Pardon me if I got the spellings of the names of the communities or their arrangement wrong.
