The Wa Station CID has begun investigation into a case involving a young man identified as Zaid Issahaku and an Upper West Media Reporter which occured on 1st July 2026.

Zaid Issahaku was reported to have snatched a phone and some amount of Money including $300 and Ghc1,000 (Ghc200) denominations from a journalist with a statement that the properties were to be submitted to the Wa Naa’s Palace for probe.

According to The Secretary to Overlord of Waala Traditional Area, Mr. Jimpenhi Naa Kadri, The act was unfortunate and wasn’t authorized by the Waala Traditional Council. He distanced the Palace from the horrendous act which occured in front of heaven Sent Supermarket at about 10pm.

The Journalist has insisted on the case being processed before court for justice to be served after his properties were allegedly stolen by a group led by Zaid Issahaku.

According to Zaid Issahaku’s Narration, An Upper West Media Reporter [Name Withheld] published a Video with MTTD Commander, Chief Inspector Akoogo calling for Wa Naa and MCE to desist from Interfering in the works of Police.
The Police Commander made the statement at Dakuleda Cambuu Summit held on the 26th of June 2026 at the Wa Metropolitan Assembly Hall.

Zaid Issahaku tagged the video as an attempt to disregard and disrespect the authority of Wa Naa questioning why the reporter published the statement from the MTTD Commander and in the process of interrogation in front of Heaven Sent Supermarket, forcefully took away his phone and other belongings including cash.

He questioned if such a statement would have been published if it was said about Otumfuo Osei Tutu, The Overlord of Ashanti Kingdom
