Mr. Randy Haile Selasi Snr,
Chairman of Northwest Soya Bean Value Chain Association and CEO of UB Global Company Ltd fears prices of Shea Nuts may Skyrocket before the year 2027.

Speaking to Upper West Media Team on the 29th July 2026, he indicated that Shea trees haven’t produced sufficient sea fruits to yield more nuts a reason several farms with sheanuts are not willing to sell hoping for high prices.

He also revealed that import of Shea from neighboring countries has also been restricted triggering a probability of price hikes as a result of increase in demand.

He said a kilk of sheanuts is likely to sell between Ghc10 to Ghc15 before 2027.

“Currently You can’t bring in shea nut to Ghana. Per a New Directive a Kilo is Gh¢7-8 Cedis and there are concerns it can shoot up to Gh¢10 and Gh¢15 per kilo before 2027”.
