The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper West Region is set to elect new regional executives on Saturday, August 15, 2026, with about 260 delegates expected to participate.

The elections will take place at the Wa Technical Institute from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., with delegates from all 11 constituencies in the region expected to cast their ballots.

The party says preparations for the polls have been completed, with ballot papers secured by the police ahead of the exercise.

According to the Regional Representative for the elections, Isaac Halitu, adequate measures have also been put in place to ensure a smooth and orderly process.

About 30 police officers are expected to be deployed to the venue to maintain security during the elections.

Halitu expressed confidence that the exercise will be peaceful, noting that there have been no major complaints from contestants or delegates ahead of the polls.

The election will determine new regional executives for key positions, including regional chairman, vice chairpersons, secretary, organiser and treasurer.

Delegates will also elect executives for the youth, women and Nasara wings of the party.

The exercise forms part of the NPP’s internal reorganisation as the party prepares to strengthen its structures at the regional level.

A total of 260 accredited voters and delegates are expected to participate in the upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) Upper West Regional Elections.

Constituency Executive Committee Members – 209
Patrons – 10
Elders – 10
TESCON Representatives – 14
Regional Executive Committee Members – 16
National Council Representative – 1

Total: 260 delegates
